Run for charity
Why not run one of our great events and raise money for charity at the same time?
Marathons all over the globe raise millions of dollars for charity and we want Auckland to be right up there as one of the biggest. We know that with your help we can do our bit to support both local and nationwide charities and make Auckland one of the top charity marathons worldwide. We’re determined that 2013 will be the start of something special.
How much can we raise in 2013? $500,000? $1million? $1.5million? $ More? Let’s find out – together!
There are two ways that you can raise money for your favourite charity
- You can sign up for one of our new ‘Golden Charity Entries’. New for 2013 are a very limited number of special entries in both the half and the full marathon. If you sign up for one of these entries, which have been allocated to a small number of selected charities, you will need to raise a pre-agreed amount of money for the charity that you run for. This will be set by the individual charities, but will be around $1500. On race day you will wear a special gold bib, which will mark you out as one a select group of runners pioneering our focus on charity fundraising.

OR
- Once you get your entry in the event of your choice just go to fundraiseonline.co.nz and set up a fundraising page. You can then email all your friends, family and work colleagues and let them know what you’re planning. It doesn’t matter if it’s the kid’s race, or the marathon that you’ve entered; you can raise money whatever the distance. Get in touch with the charity that you’ve decided to run for and let them know what you’re planning. Ask them how they can help you.
We’ve got some great fundraising tips to get you started.
