Sports Massage @ ITU Triathlon Auckland
What an amazing day out ! ITU Triathlon downtown Auckland, great weather , great racing and what a great field of international athletes. I have long been a fan of Javier Gomez, but having seen him in the flesh now I am positively in luv. How any human can run 10 k in 30 minutes after having swam and biked as well is beyond me. Hang on, isn’t the world record marathon time… ? OMG, let’s not think about this!
Auckland Therapeutic and Sports Massage has had it’s own amazing customers enter the Sprint distance and team triathlons (Well, done Draydon!) he’s off to the world championships , what a thrill!
Taking some time out between the ladies and gents events, we wondered into the Cloud to see what exhibitors had on offer. Was great to see our friends at Tritathletes Corner be nice and busy and we even bumped into Jo Lawn, legendary NZ Ironman champion at the Ironman stand. I did enter the draw to win a free entry to Perth, so keep your fingers crossed for me (though geepes, imagine all the training I’d have to do if I’d win! I think I’ll leave it up to the hubby to put in all that work:)
And there was even a lone massage triathlon therapist offering pre-race treatments. Hopefully people took good advantage of that, because it is actually really useful to have a massage before an event to rev up local circulation and keep those muscles ticking over nicely. Really it is a great way to warm up, before your warm up !
We were in utter awe of everybody who competed , it was just great to see such an enthusiasm for the sport, for the city and for a sport growing in popularity by the day. Get yourself out there and give it a go. And who knows – if my name is pulled out the bag- I might even join them next year!
